Italy - Sorrento, Cathedral of Saints Philip and James

A selection of photos taken on holiday in April 2019. Sorrento Cathedral was first built in the 11th century and was rebuilt in the 15th century in Romanesque style.  The bell tower has three storeys, and has a clock.  The base of the bell tower dates to the time of the Roman Empire.





Italy - Sorrento, Church of San Francesco

A selection of photos taken on holiday in April 2019.  The 14th century cloister is adjacent to the church.  The simple white façade was rebuilt in marble in 1926.





Italy - Amalfi, Cathedral of St Andrew

 A selection of photographs taken on holiday, April 2019. The cathedral was first built in the 9th and 10th centuries, and has been added to several times.  The Norman-Arab-Byzantine façade dates to the 19th century.  The Cloister of Paradise was constructed in the 13th century in the Arab-Norman style.
